The "AI is taking jobs" conversation is missing the point.

It’s not taking the job. It’s taking the seat.

In a traditional company, you hire for seats: the designer, the researcher, the admin. You pay for their time to fill that seat.

The one-person business flips this. You don't hire people to fill seats. You build systems to automate them.

I spent the morning building a "Research Seat" in Claude.

1️⃣ Source verification. If the data is older than 6 months, it flags it.

2️⃣ Contradiction check. It looks for the counter-argument before I do.

3️⃣ Synthesis. It maps the findings to my specific business goals.

4️⃣ Action items. It writes the first draft of the implementation plan.

The result? A task that used to take a human 4 hours now takes a system 40 seconds.

The seat is filled. But the payroll stayed at one.

This is the "Leverage Gap." The distance between those using AI as a chatbot and those using it as an employee.

Most people are still stuck in the chatbot phase.

→ Identify one task you do every Monday.

→ Write down the "if/then" logic you use to do it.

→ Turn that logic into a Claude Skill.

The goal isn't to work less. It's to produce more with the same 24 hours.

That’s how a solo founder out-competes a 10-person agency.
