The LinkedIn MCP Server for Claude, Codex and OpenClaw
You want to post to LinkedIn from your AI agent without leaving the chat. You are already in Claude working on positioning, you have a good idea, and publishing it means opening another tab and rewriting it worse. ViralBrain closes that gap.
- OAuth 2.1, no API key
- Works in Claude, Codex, OpenClaw
- Drafts in your voice
MCP connection
Your agent · your LinkedIn
The one metric most founders track wrong, and what to watch instead.
We shipped an MCP server so you can post from your terminal. Here is why.
Three things I changed after 90 days of posting on autopilot.
What the LinkedIn MCP server does
ViralBrain runs a hosted MCP server so your AI agent can draft, generate images for, and schedule LinkedIn posts in your own voice, all from inside the tool you already work in. You connect it once with a single command, then ask Claude or Codex to write and queue your week. No browser extension, no pasted API key.
How to connect LinkedIn to your AI agent
Three steps from a fresh chat to a week of posts publishing on their own.
- Step 1
Connect once
Add the server with one line. Your browser opens, you approve the connection with OAuth, no key to copy.
- Step 2
Ask your agent
Tell Claude or Codex what you want. It drafts in your voice using your writing style and your hero creators.
- Step 3
Schedule and forget
Ask it to queue the week. ViralBrain auto-publishes through the official LinkedIn API at the right times.
Install the MCP server for LinkedIn
Same endpoint for every client: https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcp
claude mcp add --transport http viralbrain https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcpcodex mcp add viralbrain --transport http --url https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcpopenclaw mcp connect https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcpVerify it worked. Ask your agent: “List my ViralBrain posts.” If it returns your drafts, you are connected.

Why an MCP server for LinkedIn, not an API key
No other LinkedIn tool exposes an MCP server. Taplio, AuthoredUp, Supergrow and the rest are apps you open in a browser, so posting from Claude means copy-paste. ViralBrain is the one you can drive from the agent directly.
It also connects with OAuth 2.1 rather than a pasted API key. ViralBrain is its own authorization server, so an agent gets scoped access you approve in the browser and can revoke in one click at connected apps. The drafts it writes use your writing style and the post generator engine, so they sound like you, not a generic model.
Who the LinkedIn MCP server is for, and its limits
Who it is for
- Founders and marketers who live in Claude or Codex
- Anyone whose LinkedIn drafts die in a separate tab
- Developers who want posting inside their existing agent workflow
- People who want AI drafts that match their own voice
Honest limits
- LinkedIn only. If you want to post to X or Instagram from your agent, this is not it.
- If you are hunting a free open-source scraper for public LinkedIn data, this is a different thing: it is for creating and scheduling your own posts.
- Full 30-day auto-publishing is a Premium feature, not part of the free tier.
LinkedIn MCP server FAQ
- It is a hosted server that connects ViralBrain to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol, so Claude, Codex or OpenClaw can draft, image and schedule LinkedIn posts in your voice without you leaving the chat. It lives at https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcp and exposes 14 tools.
- Yes. It is a standard HTTP MCP server, so it works in Claude, Codex and OpenClaw, plus any client that speaks MCP. You connect it with one line, for example: claude mcp add --transport http viralbrain https://viralbrain.ai/api/mcp
- OAuth 2.1. ViralBrain is its own authorization server, so you approve the connection in your browser and never paste a key into a config file. You can revoke an agent's access at any time from /app/connected-apps.
- Yes. The schedule_post tool queues a post and ViralBrain auto-publishes it through the official LinkedIn API at the chosen time. Auto-publishing across a full 30-day calendar is a Premium feature.
- The server is included with ViralBrain, there is no separate charge for it. ViralBrain has a free tier (3 heroes, 5 posts a month), a €1 trial, and paid plans from €39/mo. See /pricing for the full breakdown.
- No. Some people searching for a LinkedIn MCP server want a free open-source scraper for pulling public data. This is different: it is a hosted server for creating and scheduling your own posts in your own voice, tied to your ViralBrain account.
