Y'all. I just saw another "expert" post about how you should lie on your resume to beat the bots.
I'm not just annoyed. I'm actually worried.
There is so much bad advice floating around this platform that it’s becoming a full-time job just to debunk it. If you're a job seeker, I am begging you—please stop listening to people who have never actually sat in a recruiter's chair.
✔️ Recruiters are humans (mostly).
✔️ We don't "rank" you based on a secret keyword score.
✔️ We look at your experience, your impact, and your potential.
✔️ If your resume looks like a word-cloud, we're going to pass.
The "hacks" you're being sold are actually HURTING your chances. When you stuff a resume with invisible text or fake titles, you aren't "beating the system." You're just making yourself look dishonest when a real person finally opens the file.
And they WILL open the file.
We need to stop treating the job search like a video game to be glitched. It’s about connection. It’s about showing how you can solve a company's problems.
You can't "prompt" your way into a soul.
So, the next time you see a post promising a "secret trick" to land a 200k job? Do me a favor and keep scrolling. Save your energy for the stuff that actually matters—like networking and building real skills.
I care about y'all too much to watch you get scammed by another "career coach" barnacle.
As you were. 😉

In 2019, pre-Covid, my youngest daughter was a sophomore in high school with one dream - to attend DigiPen Institute of Technology. It’s now 2026. We’ve made a couple of trips for a campus tour. She…

Yeah. I saw your post about “ATS Systems” and “keywords” and “rankings” and “unless you do these things your resume is never seen by human eyes”. I hope whatever you sold your ethics for kept up wit…

I wasn't gonna but I'm gonna now because if I have to think about it SO DO YOU. Job seekers, stop gaslighting yourselves. There I said it. There are PLENTY of actual terrible job search things to…

Unpopular opinion but AI won't kill recruiting. A "customer service" approach to recruiting sure will though. Let me explain. I have shared this quote a million times and I stand by it (shout out…

Y'all I might be more confused about this now than before I started digging into it. Should you hire a REVERSE RECRUITER? Before you answer that, do you know what a Reverse Recruiter even IS? What se…
