One of the amazing parts of my job is the organisations I get to work alongside.

One of them is Nokia, and together we're building the foundation for AI across their business.

The part that matters most to me is what sits underneath. Enterprise AI is only as strong as the foundation it runs on. Models are easy to demo and hard to run at scale, and the difference is almost always the quality of the data and the process layer they sit on. That is what this transformation puts in place.

Nokia is moving its core operations to RISE with SAP, running SAP S/4HANA Cloud on Microsoft Azure: one consolidated cloud foundation for finance, logistics, master data governance, warehouse management and global trade. A clean core, governed master data and a single system of record give AI the conditions it needs to deliver real value.

On that foundation, AI-enabled capabilities are embedded directly into the apps and adopted as the transformation advances, so AI becomes part of how the Nokia business runs day to day. A fitting direction for a company that is itself an undisputed global leader in connectivity for the AI era.

Helping build that foundation, alongside colleagues at SAP and Microsoft, is exactly the kind of work I love about this job.
