The Business of Fashion’s latest report, “The New Luxury Client,” is now live.

More than 2,000 respondents. Two markets. Four spending tiers. Countless hours of interviews, analysis and debate. This has been a fascinating project to bring to life, and I’m incredibly proud of the work behind it.

A huge thank-you to the BoF Insights team for their rigour, curiosity and care, and to our partners at McKinsey & Company for their collaboration throughout. I’m also grateful to every luxury client and executive who shared their time and perspective with us.

The report explores how emotional connection is shaping luxury desirability across the US and China — and why the same language of aspiration does not always translate across markets. Clients are looking for products that feel personal, relevant and worth investing in, but the reasons behind those decisions can be radically different.

That means brands need to look beyond demographic assumptions. They need to understand what their customers value, what makes them trust a brand and what gives them a reason to return.

One of my favourite findings is how much the definition of luxury is expanding. It is no longer only about rarity, heritage or price. For many consumers, it is also about confidence, service, cultural relevance and the feeling that a brand understands them.

Download the special edition of The State of Fashion to discover what really matters to luxury clients today: https://lnkd.in/example

And if you read it, I’d love to know which finding stood out to you.
