You're looking at a dashboard that says your project is 80% complete.

But you walk the site and see the drywall isn't even taped.

I've seen this movie a hundred times. In my 14 years at Pulte, the "data" in the office rarely matched the "dirt" on the ground.

The superintendent is too busy putting out fires to update the portal. The trade partner is waiting on a backcharge that hasn't been processed. So everyone just enters whatever numbers make the chart stay green.

This is why most AI implementations in construction fail before they start.

They're building on top of bad data. They're trying to automate a lie.

If you want to actually use AI to run your operations, you have to stop looking at the dashboard and start looking at the workflow. How does the information actually get from the field to the screen?

If that process is broken, no amount of "custom software" is going to fix it.

I spent my morning with a concrete contractor looking at exactly this. We didn't talk about code. We talked about how his foremen use their phones when their hands are covered in dust.

That's where the solution lives.
