Most AI strategies fail because they treat adoption as a software update. It is not. It is a habit migration.
I was looking at a rollout plan for a mid-sized firm last week. They had the licenses. They had the security clearance. They even had the 'how-to' videos sitting in a Slack channel.
Nobody was using it.
When we looked closer, the reason was simple. The AI tool required three steps of data preparation before it could provide a single insight. In a busy week, those three steps are a wall.
We call this the mechanical tax. It is the hidden cost of 'better' tools that nobody accounts for in the pitch meeting.
So we changed the approach. We didn't ask them to use the tool. We built a script that moved the data for them, so the insight just appeared where they already spend their time.
The tool became invisible. The value became unavoidable.
If you are pushing a new workflow this month, ask yourself: are you giving them a solution, or are you giving them a new chore?
