Colby Kultgen positions himself as a master of micro-habits and a bridge between analytical rigor and self-actualization. Leveraging his background as a former accountant, he deconstructs complex psychological concepts into high-utility frameworks, emphasizing the "1% better" philosophy of incremental growth. His content strategy centers on actionable self-optimization, utilizing recurring themes of focus restoration, emotional intelligence, and digital boundaries to provide a roadmap for the modern professional. What makes Kultgen notable is his ability to blend tactical transparency with high-level systems, such as using AI tools to build custom learning environments or converting personal failures into objective data sets. Reminder we all need sometimes. On the days you have only 40%, and you give 40%. You gave 100%. Read that again.

I know, this kind of advice is a wild oversimplification. "Just do it for fun and you won't be anxious anymore!" 🙃 If only it were that easy. With that said, I do want to highlight two things here…

There's a state many people live in that nobody talks about. It's not burnout. It's not laziness. It's the anxious middle. The blur of half-work, half-rest where you're never fully engaged in any…

Most people think productivity is about doing more.
It’s not.
It’s actually about doing less, but doing it with 100% of your available focus.
I call this 'The Deep Work Audit'.
For years, I was the king of 'fake work'.
I would clear my inbox, tweak my website, and attend meetings that could have been emails. I felt busy, but I wasn't moving the needle.
Busyness is a form of laziness—lazy thinking and indiscriminate action.
If I could only do one thing today to make everything else easier, what would it be?
1️⃣ Identify your 'Lever': Look at your to-do list. Circle the one task that actually generates revenue or moves a project forward. Everything else is secondary.
2️⃣ The 90-Minute Rule: Block off the first 90 minutes of your day for that one task. No phone. No Slack. No coffee refills.
3️⃣ Close the Tabs: If a tab isn't related to your 'Lever' task, close it. Digital clutter is mental clutter.
4️⃣ Review the Data: At the end of the day, ask yourself if you actually did the work or just 'prepared' to do the work.
Be honest with yourself.
The results might sting at first.
But once you stop hiding behind small tasks, you'll realize how much you're actually capable of.
Save this for your next Monday morning check-in!
