Valerie Ehrlich positions herself as a discerning bridge between high-level AI innovation and the mission-driven sector, leveraging a PhD-level background in evaluation to advocate for human-centered agency. Her content strategy centers on "productive friction," moving beyond simple efficiency to explore how nonprofits can use AI without outsourcing critical thinking or compromising equity. She is notable for her ethic of care, often intersecting technical toolkits like AI notetaker guides with deep sociological reflections on digital shame and matriarchal leadership. By blending fractional leadership expertise with a transparent, "one-woman show" vulnerability, Ehrlich creates a unique value proposition of responsible AI literacy that prioritizes long-term ecosystem health over quick, fear-based ROI.

I have a really hard time summarizing what makes Skills in Claude so mind-blowingly effective, but this gets the point across. Skills files are little .md files that are like tools you can carry alo…

Whoops! It's been a minute! As a one-woman show, it's hard to keep up with the content demands needed to stay visible across platforms. But, I also believe in embracing imperfection. So, here's an i…

I’ve been thinking a lot about the "invisible labor" of AI adoption.
As a one-woman show, I know how tempting it is to just hit 'generate' and move on. But, and this is the important part, the real value isn't in the output. It's in the friction.
I’m sharing a new resource today: The Productive Friction Framework.
It’s a simple, one-page guide designed for mission-driven folks who want to use AI without losing their voice. It covers three specific moments where you can pause, reflect, and re-assert your agency in the process.
I’ve been using this myself all week (especially with Claude!) and it’s completely changed how I approach my morning writing routine.
So, I’d love to hear from you. Where are you intentionally slowing down with AI? Or, are you finding it hard to resist the urge for speed?
Drop a comment and let me know! I’m ready to learn from your experiments.
