Viral Patterns
Every viral LinkedIn post is built from three parts: a hook that stops the scroll, a body that delivers on it, and a CTA that turns readers into engagement. Here are the patterns that show up again and again in high-performing posts.
Hook Patterns
Question Hook
Opens with a direct question that makes the reader stop and answer it in their head before reading on.
Statistic Hook
Leads with a surprising number or data point to establish credibility and curiosity in the first line.
Story Hook
Drops the reader into a moment of a personal story, no setup, straight into the scene.
Controversial Hook
Takes a clear, debatable stance on a topic the audience already has an opinion about.
Body Structures
Listicle Structure
Breaks the idea into numbered or bulleted points that are easy to scan and easy to share.
Storytelling Structure
Carries a narrative arc, setup, conflict, resolution, with the lesson landing at the end.
Educational Structure
Teaches a concept step by step, usually framed around a mistake to avoid or a framework to follow.
CTA Patterns
Direct CTA
Asks explicitly for the next action, follow, subscribe, click, try it.
Question CTA
Closes with a question aimed at pulling comments and starting a conversation in the replies.
Engagement CTA
Invites readers to share their own experience or tag someone who needs to see the post.
