Theo Browne positions himself as the unfiltered voice of the developer ecosystem, bridging the gap between high-level engineering and the business of tech media. His content strategy centers on a "no-BS" transparency that critiques industry fraud, such as fake viewership metrics, while simultaneously providing deep technical value through product launches and open-source initiatives. What makes Theo notable is his dual identity as a YC-backed founder and a media powerhouse, creating a unique intersection of high-leverage consulting and aggressive market advocacy. By blending technical cynicism with genuine community building, he establishes a brand of radical authenticity that protects both his audience and his corporate partners from the noise of the broader tech landscape.

The "AI Engineer" title is mostly slop.
I've talked to dozens of companies looking for "AI talent" lately. Most of them don't even know what they're asking for. They want a dev who can wrap a prompt in a FastAPI endpoint and call it a day.
That isn't engineering. It's basic API integration.
I'm seeing a massive wave of people changing their LinkedIn headlines to "AI Expert" after building one RAG app with LangChain.
It's hurting the people actually doing the hard work. The ones optimizing inference, building custom kernels, and actually understanding the math.
If you're a founder, stop hiring for titles. Hire for the ability to solve the problem without a wrapper.
I'm going deep on this in my next video. If you've seen this happening, let me know. I'm tired of the noise.
