But if they look at the instruments and the radar, they can see the path through the weather. You need to develop your own internal radar—a set of principles that guide you regardless of the current conditions.
This requires a level of detachment that is difficult to achieve. It means making frank assessments of your own reactions and being willing to admit when your emotions are clouding your judgment. In the long run, this disciplined approach to thinking is what separates those who are constantly putting out fires from those who are building something that lasts.
