🚀 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗺 trusted infrastructure to services people can use every day across Europe!

Digital transformation becomes meaningful when it moves beyond architecture, standards and technical pilots, and reaches the citizens, businesses and administrations that depend on public services.

This week, we saw another important step in that direction.

Through the continued rollout of interoperable digital building blocks, public administrations can exchange verified information more securely, reduce duplication, and simplify procedures for people moving, studying, working or starting a business across borders.

The technology matters. But the real value is created when that technology becomes part of a reliable and understandable service.

That is why implementation is so important.

It means onboarding administrations, aligning processes, clarifying responsibilities and ensuring that the systems can operate under real institutional conditions. It also means listening to the people who use these services, because a process that is technically possible is not necessarily a process that feels simple.

This is the practical side of European digital infrastructure: trusted data, reusable solutions, common standards and cooperation between Member States.

It is also the foundation for the next generation of public services.

Whether we are talking about education evidence, company information, professional qualifications or civil status, the objective remains the same: less administrative burden, fewer repeated requests and more seamless interactions with public administrations.

We should not measure progress only by the number of systems connected.

We should also measure it by the number of people who no longer need to upload the same document several times, the number of businesses that can complete procedures more easily, and the number of administrations that can rely on information already available elsewhere.

That is how digital interoperability becomes real impact.

Many thanks to all colleagues, national teams and technical partners working every day to turn these building blocks into services that are secure, inclusive and ready to scale.

Together, we can deliver the digital counterpart of freedom of movement: freedom of data.
