The 'dream job' is a bit of a myth, isn't it?
We spend months tailoring the CV.
We research the board members.
We practice the 'tell me about yourself' pitch in the shower.
And then the rejection comes. Or worse—the silence.
I've been looking at the US market again. The scale is massive, but so is the noise. In Australia, the pond is smaller, but sometimes it feels like the water has been drained entirely.
Is it just me?
I see the same roles reposted every thirty days.
I see the 'entry level' jobs asking for five years of experience.
I see the AI-generated rejection emails sent at 3 AM.
It’s exhausting.
But then you have a conversation with a real human. A peer. Someone who says, 'Yeah, I'm feeling it too.' And suddenly the imposter syndrome retreats just a little bit.
We aren't the problem. The process is.
Anyway, I'm still here. Still writing. Still pushing.
